Where might AVs be available first? How could they best proliferate? What are the economic, social and environmental costs to businesses and communities of adoption?

For AVs to be readily adopted by small businesses, there is a need to achieve economies of scale and upskill the workforce to reduce the risk of investing in new technologies.

This project will:

  • Explore how emerging AV technologies can be scaled to boost business innovation and profitability.
  • Use horizon scanning and scenario planning, to assess opportunities in agriculture and defence; whilebuilding the business case by examining demand, costs, benefits, and risks.
  • Will create new knowledge and drive growthproductivity and competitiveness in agriculture for theuse cases (with POs Melville Park, Lindesay, Clipcam, Murweh Shire), and technology adaptation (POsFord, Conigital and StealthTech), and developing local skills capabilities (MTAQ, Department of NaturalResources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development, DETSI) in AVs.
