A policy analysis toolkit for vehicle automation adoption
This project will develop an integrated policy analysis toolkit for AVs that is grounded in Safe Systems, the complex interactions among a multitude of factors (technology, individual, community, infrastructure, built environment, stakeholder, and enterprise) and their intricate, multi-attribute and multi-level interactions informed by Programs 1-3.
The theoretical innovation is in:
a) Pioneering a mechanism of Micro-Meso-Macro link to integrate those factors and interactions
b) Accommodating for uncertainty through scenario planning exercises, which consider divergent plausible future scenarios for AV adoption such as market-, business-, and regulation-driven adoption.
