The project will investigate how the introduction of new AV technologies impacts the communities where the technology is deployed, particularly focusing on enhanced productivity and preparing the future workforce. Predicting this impact across economic, social and environmental systems is critical for defining sustainable pathways to accompany this transformation.

This project develops data-driven platforms based on planning, monitoring and causal evaluation systems, and economic theory and evaluation logic. This allows the prediction, optimisation, monitoring and evaluation of the socio-economic, environmental and workforce benefits and costs of AV adoption at all spatial scales, including an evaluation of jobs created and lost from the technological transition and emerging skill needs.

This project will take these findings to inform and develop novel vocational training curricula to assist the future workforce in learning new skills associated with AV adoption.
